First Assignment ( Art Movement )

Art movement is a style of a specific same goalwhich is followed by a group of artists during a restricted period of time usually a few months and years.Art movement is important in modern art too. Art movement that represented me is the Fauvism art.Fauvism art is a movement that starting with Henri Matisse (1869-1954), who worked independently, a few artists began to explore using planes of undiluted color around the turn of the century.Matisse, Maurice de Vlaminck (1876-1958), André Derain (1880-1954), Albert Marquet (1875-1947) and Henri Manguin (1875-1949) all exhibited in the Salon d'Automme in 1903 and 1904. The artists hadn't intended to shock anyone, they were simply experimenting, trying to capture a new way of seeing that involved pure, vivid colors. The artists choose not to think at all, but the results were similar: blocks and dashes of colors not seen in nature, juxtaposed with other unnatural colors in a frenzy of emotion.This had to have been done by madmen, wild beasts, fauves! The Key Characteristics of Fauvism is the colour. Raw, pure color was not secondary to the composition, it defined the composition. For example, the colour of the sky painted in red colour, orange sand and blue colour land.Fauves always went with realistically-colored scenery. Besides colour,expressiveness is the characteristic of Fauvism. For example, the expressiveness that pouring forth of the artist's emotions through sharp color and popping forms. The ordinary subject matter is the one of the characteristic of Fauvism. For exmaple, the Fauves tended to paint landscapes or scenes of everyday life within landscapes with heightened color. rt This is my art work that i did during Valentine`s Day. I draw the sapphire roses to represent me because sapphire as a sign of unreachable dreams. Sapphire rese symbolizes my ability to dream and accomplish those dreams. Those represented sapphire rose are often very creactive and always dreaming up stories.Yellow colour represented the happiness of myself. Orange colour represented that I am independent and ambitions.For example, everyone wants me to be their friend because of my warm personality. I am always ready to tackle a challenge. For the pink colour, there are 2 different pink colour in my art work which are salmon pink and Fuchsia. Salmon pink represented that I am a serious person while doing work. Besides Salmon pink, Fuchsia represented the inspires confidence assurance and maturity, a more responsible and controlled nurturing and love of me. Moreover, I change the colour of the roses from red to green because I dont like to follow the rules just like Fauvism art movement. But sometimes I need to follow the rules that already set by others that i coloured a rose with the original colour (red-pink). Furthermore, the blue iris colour that i coloured on the land is represent that my friendship is very important to me. I am a person who always care about my friend`s feeling all the time. Purple colour that coloured on the sky is represent that I am a mystery person. Sometimes i will keep quiet and dont like to share my feeling to my family and my friends. =) Happy Valentine`s Day!
